Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects approximately 5% to 10% of the child and adolescent population on several continents, with the main treatment option being the use of methylphenidate (Ritalin). The active principle of Ritalin is methylphenidate, which is classified as a psychostimulant and is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adults, taking the correct dose can help with treatment and help with tasks. The prescription of Ritalin in specific doses and greater care on the part of the pharmacist during the dispensing process, as they may appear to have beneficial effects in the administration of this medication. Otherwise, excessive use of methylphenidate can lead to side effects of taking it, which can cause central nervous system (CNS) disorders, leading to increasing doses consumed and can lead to dependence on this drug. The suffering of parents due to the difficulty of dealing with their children awakens the idea that a medical solution is needed because we live in a time when life's misfortunes have become pathological.
