THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PHARMACIST IN THE APPLICATION OF BOTULINIC TOXIN

Nowadays, the progressive increase in life expectancy has generated a great search on the part of the population, in relation to their well-being, including self-esteem and body and facial aesthetics. In this way, aesthetic health is advancing and experiencing permanent technological and scientific changes. With each passing day, the population is more vain, seeking a younger and more attractive appearance, with that the aesthetic procedures are gaining a great space in the world, nowadays not only women, but also men and people of all ages seek to improve and perfect your appearance with these procedures. In this way, there is a great demand for the application of botulinum toxin (TBA), popularly known due to the Botox® brand. This toxin is produced by a gram positive bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, there are eight different serotypes of toxins, but the most used in the field of aesthetics is type A, as it is the most potent and least aggressive to the human body. As a methodological procedure, a study of bibliographic reviews of scientific articles was carried out, in order to conclude that the pharmacist is a professional duly qualified to work in the area of TBA application, with a view to a deeper understanding of the pharmacology and benefits of the substance in the organism, because it is a product developed and manufactured in the pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, this professional is qualified for this activity, with the objective of evaluating the adequacy of the pharmacist in the application of botulinum toxin.
