In each cell, a story of mourning and resistance. In this digital book, inside the labyrinth of the Brazilian prison system, revealing the social nuances and the complex interactions that shape human rights in the prison context."
O Chapter 1: The Beginning of the Prison System
In this chapter, we explore the origins of the Brazilian prison system, tracing its evolution from the earliest days to the present day. We analyze the motivations and influences that the system has created, understanding its historical context and the first forms of punishment used in the country.
Já o Chapter 2: Human Rights and Characteristics of the Brazilian Prison System.
This chapter explored the intersection between human rights and the characteristics of the Brazilian prison system. We investigate systematic violations of the law, such as overcrowding, lack of adequate infrastructure, violence, discrimination and precarious living conditions inside prisons.
Em seguida, no Chapter 3: A Prison Reality in Brazil.
In this interim, I entered the prison reality of Brazil, analyzing the numbers, the statistics and the challenges faced. We address the quest of superlotação, the violence between the detainees, the lack of access to basic services, the absence of effective resocialization policies and the existing inequalities in the system.
O Chapter 4: Analysis of the Brazilian Criminal Execution Law. In this final chapter, we conduct a detailed analysis of the Brazilian Criminal Execution Law. We explore its guidelines, its limitations and its impacts on the guarantee of human rights in the prison system. We discuss possible improvements and necessary reforms to promote a fairer and more humane criminal execution. Throughout these chapters, we have in view to provide a broad and critical vision of human rights in the Brazilian prison system, highlighting the importance of rethinking and transforming this context, in search of a more just and inclusive society.
