On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared Covid-19 a pandemic, a disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Its first registered case was in December 2019 in the city of Wuhan, China. However, not long after, the disease spread rapidly, not only reaching the cities of China, but all countries. Because it was a new case, there was no effective prevention method for COVID-19, such as vaccines, which unfortunately resulted in large scales of death, especially for those who already had a comorbidity. The pandemic was an episode that had a negative impact on the population, leading the population to collapse, taking harmful measures, such as the increase in self-medication of antidepressants and mainly off-label ones, with the aim of preventing the virus and protect your life. The role of the pharmacist in the midst of the pandemic was crucial in pharmaceutical care, in the treatment of hospitalized patients in conjunction with other health teams and especially in the fight against self-medication selected for the pharmacotherapy of COVID-19.
