Hypertension is a pathology that is often asymptomatic and silent, identifiable by measuring blood pressure, and may present persistent values greater than or equal to 140 mmHg for systolic pressure and 90 mmHg for diastolic pressure. The elderly are the ones who suffer the most from this disease. The control of arterial hypertension depends on a general change in the individual's lifestyle, they must have a change in diet and, above all, perform regular physical activity, not be adept at smoking, have control over alcohol consumption and, when necessary, carry out the use regular medication, thus, the role of the pharmacist is always to advise on the medications to be administered by the elderly, since they have little clarification and understanding regarding the ways of their use.
