Digital tools are nowadays an important instrument to assist the pharmaceutical professional in the scope of pharmaceutical care. With the help of information and communication technology (ICT), it is possible to identify and promote protection, monitoring, health recovery, disease prevention and other health problems, as well as to solve pharmacotherapy problems and assist in the rational use of drugs. The evolution of the pharmaceutical profession is one of the most notable, given that the first actions involving pharmacists in Brazil date back to the 17th century, where documents already showed the first pharmacies that were establishments authorized to sell medications and manipulate and dispense products for healing. The population had easy access to the pharmacy and the pharmacist due to the proximity of the location, thus meeting the absence or distance of hospitals. Today, with technological advances and the continuous need for the pharmaceutical professional's work, their role for the population regains importance and has shown new paths for pharmaceutical care with the arrival of telepharmacy and other digital technologies.
