Teleradiology is a tool that allows remote diagnosis through the interpretation of medical images by specialists. Its implementation in clinics and hospitals can bring several advantages, such as the possibility of treating patients in remote regions and reducing costs with travel and hiring. However, it also presents challenges and limitations, such as the need for adequate infrastructure and the guarantee of data security and privacy. For the implementation of teleradiology, it is necessary to carry out a needs analysis and establish adequate strategies, taking into account the legal and ethics involved. It is important to have a qualified and trained team to use the technology, as well as to establish clear protocols for sending and receiving images. The main advantages of teleradiology are the agility in the diagnosis and the possibility of treating patients in remote areas. However, it is necessary to face challenges such as the need for an adequate infrastructure and the guarantee of data security and privacy. It is essential to establish clear protocols and have a team capable of using technology, thus ensuring better patient care.
