Congenital Zika Syndrome (CZS) is a growing concern for pediatricians and neonatologists worldwide. The condition is caused by the Zika virus, transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, which can cause a range of brain abnormalities, including microcephaly, in babies exposed during pregnancy. The diagnosis of SZC is challenging and requires a multidisciplinary approach, while adequate clinical management is essential to improve the prognosis of affected patients and minimize long-term complications. Future research is needed to develop specific treatments, evaluate the effectiveness of preventive interventions, and improve awareness of CZS. Awareness of the condition must be raised among healthcare professionals as well as in affected communities. In summary, SZC is a complex and challenging condition that requires a multidisciplinary approach to its management and future research may help to improve the diagnosis, management and prevention of the condition.
