It is unbelievable how violence in our country has been gaining proportions every day more gigantic. These are the most terrible crimes possible, among them kidnappings, murders, and robberies, and what frightens us the most is the trivial figure of the minor in the commission of these crimes. Society must take a stand against constitutional changes that only aim to present simplistic solutions and that will not resolve the issue of juvenile crime in the country. On the contrary, it should discuss the true causes of violence among young people and demand that the responsible authorities implement the Statute of Children and Adolescents, especially regarding the socio-educational measures provided therein. It is also argued that these adolescents have access to a great deal of information, thus bringing them maturity and the ability to understand their actions. It is true that young people today receive more information, but it is almost always received through television, which is the most far-reaching mass media.
