In search of economy and sustainability in civil construction, the use of Drywall emerges as a more efficient constructive method, to replace the conventional masonry system and meet the growing demand and evolution of the market. In this context, the explanatory research method was used, where construction costs in traditional masonry were compared with Drywall in order to understand which method is more economical and viable. Using budget tables from SINAPI (2022) the values of the two modalities were compared. Drywall offers a wide variety of solutions for the work, with several types of plates and profiles, thus allowing the designer to work in places of humidity and with protection against fire. They have high fire resistance, impact resistance, acoustic insulation and low water absorption, in addition to great resistance for fixing furniture and appliances, in addition to a wide variety of plates and profiles, and can be assembled in different types of walls. Analyzing the results obtained by the cost tables, it was concluded that Drywall is not financially viable in constructions in the national territory, which occurs due to the low offer of products offered in the Brazilian market, in addition to the constructive culture already consolidated, which can make it difficult to your acceptance. It was possible to verify that the cost difference between the two construction modalities presented in this study is approximately 30% more with the use of Drywall.
