The present work is about the importance of human relationships. This presents a bibliographical research on the subject. Within this theme, it was defined important to present information regarding human relations; conceptualize and characterize leader and leadership and point out indispensable information about people management. Currently, the relationship between leaders and followers is a reason for institutional problems, so different information about leader and leadership is added. As well as the types of existing leaders and their characteristics. Theoretical frameworks are presented to clarify how important groups and their relationships are. All institutions are composed of people, thus, it is increasingly necessary to study the different relationships and the importance of human beings. Since power in social groups has to be exercised with capacity and efficiency and, for that, the present demands a leader and a leader capable of this activity. Therefore, the leader of this century needs to present certain indispensable characteristics such as: charisma, sympathy, capacity for interaction, among others.
