Introduction: Crossfit has been a modality with great supporters, but despite having positive points, there are questions due to the application of complex movements, constantly varied with high intensity, with a greater probability of injuries in the shoulder joint. Objective: To determine the prevalence of shoulder joint injuries in crossfit practitioners. Method: This is a literature review using articles published in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MedLine), Scientific Electronic Library (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases. The search for articles was carried out from August to September 2022 using the combination of the following descriptors: Shoulder joint, crossfit, injury, duly registered in the DeCS (Health Sciences Descriptors), through the Boolean AND operator. Articles available in full, published in Portuguese and English, focused on the object of this study and published in the period between 2016 and 2022 were selected. Abstracts, literature reviews, monographs, theses and dissertations were excluded. Results: 10 articles were selected to compose the results of this research, where there was a unanimously high prevalence of injuries in the shoulder joint, in addition it was also possible to determine the possible causes, such as excessive training and poorly executed techniques, being the main of them. Of the crossfit practitioners, the majority was male aged between 18 and 59 years. Conclusion: There was a high prevalence of injuries in the shoulder joint due to crossfit, mainly due to poor execution of the technique and excessive training.
