Dental darkening, especially in anterior teeth, is quickly noticed, and generates great discomfort, compromising the patient's well-being and self-esteem. Bleaching of darkened and endodontically treated teeth constitutes a possibility of aesthetic treatment that offers greater preservation of the dental structure and low cost, especially when compared to invasive procedures, such as the manufacture of veneers or crowns. Bleaching is the most conservative attempt to restore the normal color of teeth. Therefore, the present study aims to carry out a literature review on bleaching endodontically treated teeth, addressing the most used bleaching agents, the different techniques, advantages and disadvantages during treatment, a search was carried out in databases such as: PuBMed, Google Academic and Scielo. It was possible to conclude that bleaching in devital teeth is an effective, low-cost and safe option as long as it is well indicated and performed.
