UPDATED AND SYSTEMATIC ANALYSIS OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR DYSFUNCTION SYNDROME

Objective: To synthesize the problem of temporomandibular disorder in order to build knowledge based on a quality medical practice. Methods: This is a study of systematic review of specialized literature in which articles with the theme of temporomandibular disorder syndrome were raised in the bases digital data from PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar; in which 33 articles were found and 26 of these were selected for analysis.Results: It was observed that most of the articles report the marked symptoms of temporomandibular disorder and respectively their impact on patients' quality of life. In addition, the merit of the differential diagnosis of the reported syndrome was highlighted, as well as the importance of care regarding the complications of the pathology, whether of a dental or otorhinolaryngological nature. Conclusion: Therefore, it is possible to infer that this article addresses a pathology with specific symptoms, given the notoriety that a targeted anamnesis represents as an active way of seeking peripheral symptoms assisting in early diagnosis and treatment. It is concluded that the pathology must be treated under a multidisciplinary view, since it needs the collaboration of different areas in order to provide rehabilitation for the patient as a whole.
