Abstract

INTRODUCTION: China in December 2019 informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about an outbreak related to a severe acute respiratory disease that was concentrated in the city of Wuhan. In this way, a new virus was revealed that was called Corona virus (2019-nCoV), which can also be called SARS-CoV-2. OBJECTIVES: The general objective of this study was to search through the literature for the importance of cardiac biomarkers in initial investigations and in the correlation with COVID-19. METHODOLOGY: This is a study of a literary review based on articles that bring information about the topic addressed. In this study, it was carried out through articles in the following electronic databases: SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), and the Brazilian Ministry of Health, VHL (Virtual Health Library Portal), Revista Update Saúde and others. The selected descriptors were: covid-19, cardiovascular diseases and cardiac biomarkers. The inclusion criteria for the selection of required articles are: articles published in 2016 to the present, available and in any language. The exclusion criteria are: old whose themes do not match the research objective and duplicate articles in the database. RESULTS: For a better understanding and planning, initially a categorical definition of the 10 studies of the final sample was made after the selection that conducted the literature review. Exposes objectively, we have prepared a table to better present the topic. CONCLUSION: it was concluded after the analysis of all the articles gathered for this study, THE COVID-19 is potentially severe and has a high rate of dissemination. Cardiovascular pathologies resulting from COVID‐19 are frequent and have mechanisms that are still unclear. Thus, additional research is invaluable. Among the general lines, it was possible to perceive that cardiac biomarkers have great relevance from the scientific point of view, advances for treatment and diagnosis have been improving more and more, in an attempt to early detect patients with the genetic mutation and provide them with a better quality of life.
