Sport involves complex interdisciplinary relationships and methods to greatly improve performance have drawn attention in many fields. Sports competitions must be guided by equal opportunities, the best victories and the most difficult results to achieve. On the contrary, competitions between high-level athletes are based on results, seek victory at all costs, strengthen the use of resources and make victory possible. OBJECTIVE: To analyze, through a literature review, descriptions of the present study of the forensic toxicology of the use of doping in sport.METHODOLOGY: The research method used to answer the objective of this study refers to the Integrative Literature Review, where the search will be carried out of articles, in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and Online System of Search and Analysis of Medical Literature (MEDLINE). For the research, the descriptors Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) were used: Sport; doping; Sports practice, where the descriptors will be crossed in the databases using the Boolean operator AND (Esporte AND doping AND Pratica sports).EXPECTED RESULTS: This made it possible to reflect on the recurring complications arising from the use of doping in sports practice, in this sense it is also assumed that due to the good performance that doping provides to the sportsman in his sports practice, athletes use it to obtain an improvement in performance as a reason to use doping forgetting to put aside the positive aspects arising from it.
