Wireless electric power transmission has become a reality nowadays, which is relevant due to the applicability and autonomy that this technology contemplates. The guiding question is: What are the main wireless electric power transmission technologies and where do they apply? Therefore, the present study aimed to present in a general way the main wireless communication technologies, including the Qi charging standard. This being the most used standard nowadays due to the mass production and consumption of mobile devices, especially smartphones. As for the methodology, a review of the literature published in the main databases of national and international journals on the subject was carried out. The main applications developed in scientific works were observed, as well as their operating characteristics, typical power levels, characteristic distances. The general objective sought to compile, to date, documentation and scientific articles related to the wisdom of the WPT theory, as well as its main technologies, as well as the factors that are necessary for their applicability. The main biological effects of electromagnetic radiation were also researched. Initially, the introduction to the topic of wireless electric power transmission approached historical milestones in the development of the area, as well as a brief description of the main types of wireless transfer found in the bibliographies. Then, the principles of electromagnetism were described, since it governs the theme. Subsequently, the other patterns present in this technology were pointed out. It is concluded that current electric energy transmission technologies allow wireless energy transmission, however, in a limited way due to the short range and expensive value. Still, the technologies currently implemented use frequencies lower than 150 MHz, so that they do not cause harm to human health.
