Dental implants are the most sought after dental aesthetic treatment today, being the best solution for those people who have lost one or more teeth. Its placement consists of the coupling of a titanium screw inside the maxillary or mandibular bone, to avoid aesthetic and functional problems. Dental implants require only two things: on the one hand, the right amount of bone at the time of placement; on the other hand, patients' adherence to instructions and adequate follow-up. Most patients are candidates for dental implants. Only very few medical and dental conditions would make a person unsuitable for implant surgery. Based on these statements, the study aimed to describe a clinical case of an external hexagon implant in a female patient, aged in her fifties, melanoderma, smoker. The work is a case description associated with bibliographic research. With the completion of the work, it was possible to conclude that the implant is a viable procedure, with high success rates, but for its accomplishment it is necessary to take into account the entire history of the patient, evaluating their habits, especially those associated with smoking and poor hygiene. oral. It is essential that the dental surgeon keep the patient informed before, during and after treatment.
