Considering the current educational scenario in relation to the use of ICT in the school environment as a relevant theme, the present study presents critical reflections related to the use of technological resources as a pedagogical tool in the teaching-learning process in High School, with which it will be presented in the course of this work the relevance of technology in the process of man's formation in the context of contemporary society. Having as general objective: To analyze how ICT help in the formation of the literate student. The approach of this research was appropriated as a technical procedure of qualitative nature the field research and the bibliographic study, as instruments of data collection, observation and the questionnaire were used in a public school in Parnaíba-PI. From the methodological procedure used in the research, it can be concluded that a teaching practice that uses ICT as a pedagogical tool makes the teaching-learning process significant and relevant to the formation of the literate student, since transforming teaching action does not make use of traditional methodologies outdated, with this technological resources are fundamental pieces in the effectiveness and consolidation of an innovative, effective and efficient pedagogical practice. It is also worth mentioning that it is necessary that the implementation of sufficient technological equipment by student and teacher actually happens in schools, because in the current social context it becomes something indispensable in the educational process.
