Abstract

This report stems from practical activities carried out at the Association for the Protection and Assistance of Convicts (APAC) in a city in Maranhão. The target audience for this experience is male inmates. The absence of initiatives aimed at the professional inclusion of these individuals hinders resocialization and increases the risk of criminal recidivism. Thus, the reintegration of former inmates into the labor market remains a significant challenge in Brazil. Social stigma is one of the main factors that compromise access to formal opportunities and dignified employment. The meetings were developed with the objective of highlighting the importance of socio-emotional skills in the context of the labor market, but also to provide real possibilities for reintegration into the workforce, promoting through dynamics the development of socio-emotional competencies and the exchange of information about the specificities of the current labor market. The interventions carried out in the closed regime of APAC revealed important reflections on the challenges and possibilities of reintegration into the labor market.
