Objective: To report on the experience of implementing a smoking cessation group in a Primary Health Care Unit in the Federal District. Experience Report: This is an experience report, created from the Smoking Control and Prevention Group of Basic Health Unit (UBS) number 1 in Santa Maria – DF. The group was led by a multidisciplinary team from the unit, with the active participation of a resident physician in Family and Community Medicine. Final Considerations: Throughout the report, the implementation of smoking cessation through meetings in primary care was highlighted. The multidisciplinary team demonstrated commitment during the meetings, offering smoking prevention and promotion. The experience report reveals that group strategies in primary health care (PHC) are of paramount importance, as they encourage adherence to treatment. The report will serve as a reference for other research related to the same topic.
