This article analyzes the importance of integrating Brazil’s National Environmental System (SISNAMA) with the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM) to address the challenges of environmental preservation in the Amazon rainforest. The research focuses on PMAM’s institutional role within SISNAMA and the legal-administrative foundations that support environmental administrative policing in inspection, prevention, and enforcement actions. The objectives are to examine PMAM’s role as a rapid-response force, identify legal and operational barriers that affect interinstitutional cooperation, and propose guidelines to strengthen integrated environmental governance in Amazonas. A qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach is adopted, based on bibliographic and documentary research and content analysis of norms, technical documents, and specialized literature. Findings indicate that institutional integration increases state presence, supports evidence-informed operations, and improves procedural continuity of administrative measures, while persistent logistical constraints, institutional asymmetries, and protocol weaknesses remain. The study concludes that consolidated integrated governance requires standardization, territorial planning, and sustained cooperation.
