This study aimed to analyze, based on the scientific literature, the effects of physical activity on sleep quality in menopausal women. This is a narrative review of the literature conducted using articles published between 2017 and 2026, identified through searches in the PubMed, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and Web of Science databases, using the descriptors “menopause,” “physical activity,” and “sleep quality.” Original studies, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published in English and Portuguese that addressed the influence of physical activity on sleep quality in menopausal women were included. The findings indicated a high prevalence of sleep disturbances in this population, mainly associated with reduced estrogen levels. Regular physical activity was associated with improvements in subjective sleep quality, reduced insomnia severity, and enhanced psychological well-being, particularly through aerobic exercise and mind–body practices such as yoga and Pilates. However, the effects varied according to exercise type, intensity, and duration, as well as individual characteristics. In conclusion, physical activity represents a promising non-pharmacological intervention for improving sleep quality in menopausal women and should be considered in an individualized manner in clinical practice.
