Abstract

Hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures, releasing blood into the brain tissue. This bleeding leads to compression of the brain parenchyma, resulting in acute neurological dysfunction. The diagnosis is confirmed mainly by imaging tests, such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, which detect the location and extent of the hematoma. Materials and methods: This is a case study with the objective of analyzing the physiotherapy performance in a patient with hemorrhagic stroke. The interventions used were stretching, functional training, manipulation and gait training, aiming at the recovery of functionality and adjustment of muscle tone. Results: Through the application of the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scale, with evaluation and reevaluation at 2-month intervals, significant functional gains were observed, attributed to the therapeutic approach. Conclusion: Based on the information gathered, it is observed that hemorrhagic stroke causes motor and functional deficits. However, this study shows that early and continuous physiotherapeutic intervention can promote considerable progress, promoting improvements in quality of life and contributing to a more positive prognosis and significant improvement in functionality.
