Abstract

The indiscriminate use of weight-loss drugs has become an alarming issue in public health due to their potential adverse effects and their impact on healthcare systems. This article investigates the factors motivating non-prescription consumption, associated risks, and the challenges in regulating and educating the population. Through a bibliographic review and epidemiological data analysis, it aims to understand the consequences of this practice and propose solutions to mitigate the problem.
