Abstract

With the growing awareness of skin care, population aging, technological advances, subtle and natural results, and minimal downtime are some factors that drive the demand for minimally invasive procedures. As a result, less invasive aesthetic procedures have helped to minimize the damage associated with skin aging, specifically in this case, facial aging. Aging is a natural and progressive physiological process, so it can occur due to several factors, whether intrinsic and/or extrinsic. The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of concentrated non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid in improving skin hydration. This is an integrative literature review, with fifty-five articles being researched in total, and twenty-four used in the preparation of this study. The studies that presented characteristics and information necessary for the preparation of the study were included, and those that were not related to the topic were excluded. Thus, significant data were found regarding the treatment with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid on the skin. In conclusion, the use of non-crosslinked HA on the skin can be considered beneficial in combating skin aging.
