Family conflicts between first-degree relatives (fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters) are common in many families with differences in personality, values, discipline, and expectations. These conflicts are natural and are part of lifelong development. Causes include differences in perception of situations, expectations about academic performance or behavior, and changes in family dynamics. These factors generate stress and end up affecting emotional well-being. Parents may feel stress and frustration, and children may feel anger, sadness, and low self-esteem. Unresolved conflicts can harm family relationships, creating communication barriers and emotional distance. The study focuses on understanding unresolved family conflicts between first-degree relatives (fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters), analyzing their nature, causes, and impacts on mental health. The research seeks to promote a healthy relationship. A literature review was carried out based on scientific articles published between 2019 and 2024. This approach allowed a detailed analysis of the relationship between unresolved family conflicts and their impacts on mental health. They indicate that healthy family relationships significantly improve emotional well-being and an environment of open dialogue reinforces understanding and support, increasing self-esteem and trust, and promoting a more united family and an emotionally safe environment. Understanding these unresolved family conflicts is essential to promoting emotional well-being and strengthening family relationships.
