Introduction: Adolescence is a crucial transition period marked by significant physical and emotional changes. Among these transformations, acne emerges as one of the most prevalent and impactful dermatological conditions, affecting the self-esteem and well-being of young individuals. Acne not only represents an aesthetic challenge but also can generate substantial psychosocial implications. Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between acne in adolescence and aesthetic interventions, analyzing the impacts of these interventions on the dermatological and psychosocial health of adolescents. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using academic databases such as PubMed, SCIELO, and Web of Science to identify relevant scientific articles related to acne in adolescence and aesthetic interventions. Studies addressing the clinical, therapeutic, and psychosocial aspects of acne in adolescence, as well as the efficacy, safety, and impact of aesthetic interventions, were included. Results: The critical analysis of the selected articles revealed that acne significantly affects the quality of life of adolescents, negatively influencing their self-esteem and body image. Various aesthetic approaches, such as chemical peels, laser therapy, and photodynamic therapy, have proven effective in treating acne, with variations in efficacy and safety depending on the method used. Additionally, it was observed that aesthetic interventions could have a positive impact on the self-esteem and quality of life of adolescents. Conclusion: Acne is a common and emotionally challenging dermatological condition during adolescence. Aesthetic interventions offer a promising alternative for managing acne, providing improvements in both appearance and the psychosocial well-being of adolescents. However, it is essential to consider the potential risks and complications associated with these procedures, as well as to continue research to optimize clinical practices and health policies aimed at this population.
