The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of pelvic physiotherapy in the recovery and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor in women in the postpartum period. The research sought to identify the main problems faced by postpartum women, describe the most commonly used techniques in pelvic physiotherapy, and demonstrate how these interventions impact the quality of life of patients, both physically and emotionally. The methodology adopted was based on a bibliographic search and literature review, using scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024. Relevant studies available in academic databases such as SciELO and BVS were selected, using specific descriptors such as "pelvic physiotherapy", "postpartum" and "urinary incontinence". Content analysis followed the technique of Minayo (2014), providing an in-depth interpretation of the results. The results indicated that pelvic physiotherapy is highly effective in the prevention and treatment of dysfunctions such as urinary incontinence, genital prolapses, low back pain, and sexual dysfunctions. In addition to strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, techniques such as Kegel exercises and electrostimulation have proven effective in accelerating physical recovery and improving women's self-esteem and quality of life. It is concluded that pelvic physiotherapy should be integrated into standard postpartum care. It not only treats existing dysfunctions, but also acts preventively, minimizing the need for future surgical interventions. Including this practice in the postpartum health routine promotes physical and emotional well-being, ensuring a more complete and effective recovery for women.
