Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological condition affecting a significant proportion of women of reproductive age, impacting their quality of life and overall health. The complexity of the disease and variability in treatment responses challenge effective management and patient well-being. Available therapeutic options include pharmacological and surgical approaches, each with its advantages and limitations, necessitating a comprehensive review of these options and their impacts. Objective: This review aims to discuss the main therapeutic options available for endometriosis, their impacts on patient quality of life, and future perspectives in managing this condition. Methods: A systematic search of the scientific literature was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases, covering the period from 2013 to 2024. The search included original studies and reviews focused on therapeutic approaches for endometriosis. Article screening resulted in the selection of 24 studies that were qualitatively analyzed, addressing pharmacotherapy, surgery, and complementary interventions. Results and Discussion: The results indicate that pharmacological treatments, such as hormonal contraceptives and GnRH agonists, provide symptomatic relief but come with side effects that may compromise quality of life. Laparoscopic surgery is effective in reducing symptoms and improving fertility, but high recurrence rates and associated costs present significant challenges. The quality of life for patients is deeply affected by chronic pain and associated symptoms, highlighting the need for more integrated and personalized management approaches. Conclusion: The review underscores the importance of continuing research and innovation in therapeutic options for endometriosis. Personalization of treatment and improvement in quality of life management are crucial for advancing endometriosis treatment, with a need for solutions that address both symptoms and the psychosocial impacts of the disease.
