Individuals experiencing psychological suffering need alternatives for social inclusion, one of which in Brazil is working in Solidarity Economy enterprises. This study aims to describe the characteristics of scientific productions related to the solidarity economy in mental health and nursing. Method: integrative literature review from the databases BDENF, CINHAL, EMBASE, LILACS, PsycINFO, PubMed/MEDLINE, SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, covering the period from 2001 to 2021. Twenty articles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish were included. Results: Publications from 2006 to 2020, predominantly from the Southeast region of Brazil, focus on the trajectory of public policies involving the solidarity economy and mental health, and on social inclusion through psychosocial rehabilitation. Qualitative research predominated, with participants being mental health users. Psychology and Occupational Therapy were the most published professionals, followed by nursing. The Psychosocial Care Center II is the most highlighted RAPS device. Conclusion: For the solidarity economy to be an effective strategy, technical-political training and financial support from all government levels are necessary. Although nursing is a scientific contributor in this field, its specific role has not been fully explored, suggesting the need for greater technical-political involvement in the profession’s education and services to integrate mental health and the solidarity economy.
