Brazil increased its egg export prominence compared to previous years, emphasizing Japan as the main importer. Several chicken lines are used in egg production, and each one has a requirement when it comes to feeding and weather. Chickens have yellowish and thick skin, however, sometimes there may be an increase in yellowish volume that is called xanthomatosis. This study aims to report the case of a chicken raised on a farm with 104 weeks of age, up-to-date vaccination protocol and balanced diet that presented a neoformation in the wing, which due to the clinical history and age was euthanized of the animal. Macroscopic and histopathological observations diagnosed xanthoma with necrotic caseous areas in the mass that was 10 x 6cm thick, firm and pink, as well as amorphous material and cholesterol crystals with a lot of proliferation of adipose cells. Benign xanthoma can be characterized as a granulomatous inflammation being related to endocrine, nutritional problems or metabolic dysfunctions, in addition, xanthomatosis is not considered a true neoplasm, however, it is an inflammatory increase triggered by some trauma. Therefore, the initial trauma of the injury may have been caused by vaccination.
