Sleep disorders, particularly obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), have become increasingly prevalent, adversely affecting millions worldwide. Traditional diagnostic methods rely on in-laboratory polysomnography (PSG), which presents challenges such as high costs and accessibility. This review explores the evolution of portable and continuous monitoring devices as alternatives, emphasizing their benefits in diagnosis, patient comfort, and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, we discuss advancements in technology and their implications for personalized treatment approaches. The integration of these devices into clinical practice has improved access to diagnosis and management of sleep disorders, paving the way for future innovations in sleep medicine.
