Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy is a challenging period in women's lives. Women's satisfaction during childbirth is related to the information and support provided by the health team. Objective: To analyze the scientific literature on quality and safety in care for pregnant and postpartum women. Methodology: A systematic literature review of articles was carried out in the SciELO, PubMed and Virtual Health Library databases. The search took place from September to October 2023. Results and Discussion: 13 articles met the selection criteria. Maternal health care is extremely important, particularly the search for satisfaction for pregnant and postpartum women. Satisfaction during childbirth, according to research carried out, is related to access to information and support from the healthcare team, as effective communication is crucial to preventing serious postpartum consequences, such as depression. Furthermore, the need for humanized care throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period was also evident. Final Considerations: Continuous improvement in the quality of care offered to pregnant and postpartum women is significant for ensuring good satisfaction. And thus, avoid health-related problems from prenatal to post-birth. With the aim of making it a more welcoming and less traumatic period during this maternal phase.
