Abstract

Childhood obesity is considered a public health problem and a global epidemic, becoming increasingly prevalent and affecting more and more children. Countless factors contribute to the development of this disease, with a strong factor being the family environment. The influence of the family environment on childhood obesity has become a significant research subject in various fields, aiming to understand how family interaction, eating habits, and the lifestyle of both the child and the parents can influence the child's weight. This systematic review aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of studies conducted on this topic and the complexity related to the influence of the family nucleus on childhood obesity. Additionally, it aims to demonstrate that the presence of parents with inadequate eating habits, depression, anxiety, and the types of available foods greatly impact the creation of an environment that influences children.
