This study investigated how initial and continuing teacher training could be improved to include the effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), ensuring that teachers are prepared to integrate these technologies into their teaching practices in a meaningful and productive way. The problem addressed was the lack of specific and continuous training for teachers in the use of ICTs. The general objective was to explore strategies and practices that could improve this training. The methodology used was bibliographic review, with analysis of texts by renowned authors in the area. The results indicated that the integration of ICTs in teacher training requires constant updating of undergraduate course curricula, well-structured continuing education programs and public policies that guarantee the necessary infrastructure. The analysis highlighted that, although ICTs offer many opportunities to innovate and enrich the teaching-learning process, the lack of adequate training and technological resources are still significant barriers. The final considerations pointed out that teacher training must be continuous and adaptive, involving the updating of initial training curricula, the offering of continuing training programs and the support of public policies that guarantee the necessary infrastructure.
