Problems with removing hospital waste and contaminated clothing through external pipes have been discussed for some time in hospital institutions and focus on the need to alleviate or eliminate overcrowding in service elevators. The disposal of this material through external pipes must strictly follow pre-established safety standards to avoid causing risks of contamination to the employees involved and also to users such as companions and internal and external service providers. In addition to concerns about removing this material, it is necessary to be concerned about the protection of employees involved in this task. Before handling contaminated clothing, it is essential to use personal protective equipment, such as disposable gloves, face masks and waterproof aprons, to avoid direct contact with the contaminants. Contaminated clothing must be isolated in appropriate bags or containers. It is essential that professionals involved in the handling and evacuation of contaminated clothing and waste receive adequate training on safety and decontamination protocols. Additionally, it is important to regularly monitor management practices to ensure compliance with safety standards. By following these precautions and precautions, it is possible to minimize the risks associated with the evacuation of contaminated clothing through external pipes, protecting the health and safety of the individuals involved and the general public.
