The surgical approach to the treatment of endocrine disorders has been the subject of increasing interest and research in the medical community. Understanding the effectiveness and challenges associated with surgical interventions in this context is fundamental to improving clinical outcomes and patients' quality of life. Endocrine disorders, such as thyroid disease, hyperparathyroidism, and pituitary tumors, often require surgical interventions for adequate control and resolution of symptoms. Objective: to prospectively analyze the efficacy, safety and current trends in the surgical approach to endocrine disorders. Methodology: The review was carried out in accordance with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The PubMed, Scielo and Web of Science databases were used to identify articles published in the last 10 years. Descriptors included “endocrine disorders,” “surgical approach,” “intervention,” “outcomes,” and “complications.” Inclusion criteria were original studies reporting surgical outcomes in endocrine disorders, published in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Exclusion criteria included studies with small samples, case reports, and studies focusing exclusively on non-surgical treatments. Results: Results revealed a variety of surgical approaches used to treat endocrine disorders, including minimally invasive techniques, open surgeries, and image-guided procedures. Key topics covered included surgical success rates, postoperative complications, and post-surgical quality of life. Conclusion: This systematic review highlighted the importance of the surgical approach in the treatment of endocrine disorders, providing insights into current practices and areas for future research. Understanding the challenges and opportunities in endocrine surgery is essential to improving clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
