DIFFICULTIES OF ENDODONTIC CARE IN SUS – SINGLE HEALTH SYSTEM: A LITERATURE REVIEW

The single health system (SUS) was created to guarantee universal access to the public health system by providing comprehensive health care that goes beyond assistance care, and is therefore a right for all Brazilians at all stages of life. The Brasil Smiling program is aimed at dental care within the SUS. Although intended for prevention actions and basic treatments, dental specialties such as endodontics are also included in this program. In Brazil, the dentistry sector in terms of endodontic care has evolved significantly in recent decades, but innovations have become more concentrated in exams and treatments for patients, technology in dentistry is transforming the reality of dentists' offices and work, but unfortunately, problems arise that make this service difficult at the three levels of health care. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the difficulties of endodontic care in the SUS – the single health system. In this sense, the objective of this research was to investigate and understand the difficulties of endodontic care in the SUS. To this end, this research reviewed the bibliography of the last 20 years using articles, dissertations, monographs and theses, published in those available in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), on Google Scholar on the SCIELO Portal (Scientific Electronic Library Online and on Pubmed. It can be concluded from this review that the SUS is an extremely necessary health program for the less favored population of our country, which the same There are still some deficiencies, especially in specialized care, where a large portion of the population still cannot access quality endodontic care.
