Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases represent a significant part of health problems. In this point of view, heart failure is emphasized as a prevalent and worrying pathology, considering the ability to reduce quality of life and increase morbidity and mortality. There are angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers, beta-blockers, diuretics, antiarrhythmics, and others as possible therapeutic options. Studies have been developed to include SGLT2 inhibitors in therapy for IC. The main evidence shows the considerable benefits of these drugs, including improved heart function and reduced hospitalizations and mortality, so the global application of this class in IC’s treatment aims for better clinical outcomes.
