His article aims to analyze the advances and challenges of the recent adoption of a criminal policy aimed at combating organized crime. Initially, we seek to understand the expansion of criminal organizations in Brazil due to the benefits they provide to their members. In this context, it is essential to understand the legal treatment adopted by Brazil to the development of organized crime, with emphasis on the main changes promoted by law no. 13,964/19, known as the Anti-Crime Package, in Law no. 12,850/2013 (Criminal Organizations Law).It is therefore proposed to present reflections on the effectiveness of the application of the aforementioned law and the gaps that still exist, even with the adoption of this new Brazilian criminal policy aimed at toughening the criminal type as a way of combating organized crime. To then analyze whether it promoted advances or setbacks in the fight against organized crime.
