The analysis of criminal profiles in the context of domestic violence is a crucial area of study to understand and deal with this serious social problem. Domestic violence consists of any form of physical, emotional, sexual, or financial abuse by an intimate partner or family member. It is a global issue, affecting millions of people, especially women and children. The analysis of criminal profiles aims to identify patterns and typical characteristics of domestic abusers, to assist in prevention, investigation, and appropriate intervention. This analysis is carried out by specialized professionals, such as psychologists, sociologists, criminologists, and social workers, who study the behavior of aggressors and their victims. One of the main characteristics observed is the cycle of violence, which consists of three distinct phases: the tension phase, the acute incident phase, and the honeymoon phase. Knowing these phases allows professionals to identify critical moments and intervene more effectively to protect victims. Another important aspect is the identification of behavioral patterns, such as the use of techniques of manipulation, control, and isolation of the victim. Domestic abusers often use strategies of intimidation, humiliation, and threats to their victims, to keep them submissive and afraid to report the abuse. Furthermore, it seeks to identify risk factors for the occurrence of domestic violence, which may include a history of childhood abuse, alcohol or drug abuse, mental health problems, unemployment, among others. However, this analysis must be carried out by qualified professionals, in partnership with police authorities and other professionals in justice, to guarantee an adequate and effective response.
