The advancement of social networks has brought significant challenges to consumer rights, especially in relation to misleading advertising. The dissemination of inaccurate information can lead consumers to make harmful choices by purchasing ineffective or even dangerous products or services. Legislation needs to evolve to address these challenges, ensuring that social media marketing practices are transparent and ethical. Furthermore, it is crucial to invest in digital education to empower consumers to discern reliable information and make more informed decisions. By promoting a safer and more trustworthy online environment, we can protect consumer rights and ensure that their consumer choices are informed and safe. Companies also play a fundamental role in this process, adopting responsible and transparent advertising policies. Strategies aimed at disseminating true and relevant information should be encouraged, ensuring that consumers have access to accurate data to support their purchasing decisions. In short, protecting consumer rights in the age of social media requires a comprehensive approach, which involves both legal regulation and the promotion of digital awareness and education.
