This study focused on the dentist's intervention in cleft lip and palate, highlighting its effectiveness and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. The central challenge was to present the importance of the intervention carried out by this professional in his various specialties, with treatments that are carried out from the first months of the affected patient's life, through childhood, adolescence and adulthood, as well as offering scientific basis to improve it, considering not only physical aspects, but also the emotional and social impacts on patients' lives. How can the dentist play a more effective role in the multidisciplinary cleft lip treatment team, aiming to provide comprehensive and accessible care to patients? The objectives included presenting the anatomical and functional precision of the intervention, analyzing multidisciplinary collaboration and exploring emotional and social aspects. The methodology adopted a qualitative and exploratory approach, with analysis of scientific studies from sources such as SCIELO, PubMed and BVS. As a result, obtain detailed views on anatomical precision, functional improvements and emotional impacts, identifying good practices in multidisciplinary collaboration to improve treatment, considering that this is complex and long, also requiring interventions from other professionals, so that the prognosis achieved is satisfactory.
