Introduction: Pedophilia is a psychological disorder in which an adult feels a primary sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children, generally aged 11 years or younger. Impunity in cases of pedophilia in the family environment is a sensitive and traumatic issue, as, as it is in the family environment, there is greater difficulty in taking such cases to the police authorities. One of the main challenges lies in the fear or inability of victims to report abuse. Pedophiles often operate in an environment where victims, out of fear, shame or coercion, avoid communicating with people close to them to reach the authorities. The emphasis is on the gap between the occurrence of abuses and the effective legal response. Objective: This project aims to identify the reasons for impunity in cases of pedophilia in a family context, as well as analyze the legal effects of this issue. Methodology: It is based on a bibliographical review, based on scientific articles, books, periodicals and current legislation on the respective topic. Data collection will be carried out through databases such as Scielo, Google Scholar, among others, from 2018 to 2023. Conclusion: In the results, we seek not only to analyze the problem of impunity for pedophilia in the family environment, but also actively contribute to the construction of strategies that can effectively face this challenge, promoting a safer environment for victims.
