Abstract

The book "Fragilized Bonds: The Impact of Parental Incarceration on Family and Social Relations" addresses in a profound and sensitive way the complex dynamics that involve the incarceration of fathers and mothers and their effects on family and social relationships. Divided into three chapters, each with its own specific approach, the book offers a comprehensive and detailed analysis of this delicate, socially biased and often neglected topic.
Chapter I: Public Security, Incarceration, Social Service.
In the first chapter, we explore the intersection between public safety, incarceration policies, and the role of social services. We discuss how public safety policies directly influence incarceration rates, impacting not only the individuals directly involved, but also their families and communities. Additionally, we examine the crucial role of social service professionals in mitigating the negative effects of incarceration by offering support and resources to those affected.
In the second chapter, titled: The Impact of Parental Incarceration on Children's Prison Visits: Exploring the Challenges and Strategies for Maintaining Family Connections, we focus on the specific impact of parental incarceration on children's prison visits. We investigate the emotional and logistical challenges faced by these children and their families, as well as the strategies and interventions that can be implemented to maintain and strengthen family bonds during this difficult time. We also address legal and political issues related to visitation rights and family support.
Finally, in the third chapter, we deepen our analysis of the experiences of children who grow up in the prison environment. We investigate the unique challenges faced by these children, including social stigma, lack of access to adequate education and healthcare, and the psychological impact of the prison environment on their development. We also propose strategies to support and protect these children, aiming to ensure their well-being and healthy development.
In epitome, "Fragilized Ties" offers a significant contribution to understanding the effects of parental incarceration on family and social relationships, highlighting the importance of policies, involved professionals and practices that promote the support and resilience of affected families.
