Preventing falls in the elderly is a growing concern due to the significant impact of these events on the health and quality of life of this population. This study addresses effective strategies to promote residential safety and reduce the risk of falls in the elderly. An integrative literature review was conducted to examine physical, environmental, and educational interventions aimed at preventing falls in older adults. The results highlight the effectiveness of interventions such as specific physical exercises, home environmental adaptations and educational programs to reduce the risk of falls. Furthermore, multidisciplinary collaboration between healthcare professionals and consideration of the psychosocial aspects of older adults are fundamental to a comprehensive approach to preventing falls. It is concluded that integrated and personalized approaches, together with continuous research and innovation, are essential to promote the safety and well-being of older people, allowing them to age with dignity and quality of life.
