Abstract

Dear readers,
We share this digital book, entitled "Challenges Faced by Family Members of Cancer Patients", which brings reports and reflections on the empowerment of families who accompany cancer patients.
In this work, we delve into crucial themes related to the care and support for family members of people undergoing cancer treatment. We explore their journeys, challenges, coping strategies and the resources available to this important group.
This electronic book was based on the report of experiences obtained through group interviews with caregivers of cancer patients at Casa Vida, located in Pelotas. Casa Vida plays an essential role in offering welcome and care to patients from different regions, creating an environment conducive to sharing experiences and identifying common challenges.
During these conversations, participants shared several challenging situations, often resulting from a lack of information about the rights of cancer patients. They also highlighted the great importance of unity and partnership between family members in coping with the disease, highlighting the significant impact of this support on the success of the treatment.
This book aims to offer valuable insights not only for healthcare professionals, but also for family members and anyone interested in the care of cancer patients. We hope that this work will be an inspiring source of knowledge, promoting a deep reflection on the importance of comprehensive care for cancer patients and their families.
