Abstract

The general objective of this article is to analyze the invisibility of the term obstetric violence in society, its practice as gender violation and its use in legal demands. As specific objectives, we sought to conceptualize the term obstetric violence and its modalities of action, analyze obstetric violence as a violation of the woman's body and understand its execution as gender violence, human and women's rights and the stance of legislation Brazilian. To this end, the method used was expository, explanatory and bibliographic, based on doctrinal, jurisprudential, laws, international treaties, books and documents analysis. In addition to concrete case studies through available databases.
