PROFEPT’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO CONTINUING TRAINING FOR TEACHING

This article is the result of research entitled: Social Representations of Professional and Technological Education and the constitution of teacher identity within the Federal Institutes of the IFMG - Ouro Branco Campus. The work addresses the contributions of the Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT) in continuing education for teachers. It also discusses the importance of continuing training for teachers, as advocated by legal documents and highlighted by various authors, such as Saviani (2009), Imbernón (2010) and Nóvoa (1997). In the specific context of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), authors such as Moura (2008) and Oliveira (2017) emphasize the need for specific and continuous training for teachers. Finally, the relevance of ProfEPT is highlighted as a significant initiative in the training of professionals in the area of EFA, highlighting its comprehensive and practical approach, its connection between theory and practice, and its impact on teacher training and on improving the quality of Professional and Technological Education in Brazil. The work is structured in sections. The first deals with the logic of ProfEPT and its applicability. Secondly, continuing teacher training. Thirdly, teacher training in the context of EFA and finally, the ProfEPT as a field of knowledge production for teacher training.
